Hello and welcome to Blade & Cauldron!!!
This is a true family site. Your hosts are mom Jia, dad Accolan, and our two girls, Reya (age 15) and Sephoni (age 10). All four of us will be posting and adding content on a regular basis, and I am also hoping to get some friends (who are like family) to serve as guest authors from time to time.
The purpose of this site is to first and foremost act as a tool in Accolan and I achieving our dream of a home of our own in the country with chickens in the yard (in lieu of the two cats, as they will be in the house) and vegetables growing from the earth. In short, a place where we can truly be the people we want to be. A family (a couple) living a quiet, simple life that connects us to Nature and to the beauty and wonder (and yes, Divinity) we see manifested there.
Those of you who read 2 Witches Blog, will know me as Mama Kelly (and the rest of us as Gamer Dude, Miss Artistic and Princess Nature), but I have also used the pseudonym Jia Starsong online as well. As I will still be blogging over at 2 Witches, for the sake of clarity, we will use these “new” names here.
But I have one facebook page that will connect you to information that relates to both sites. We also have a “fan page” for Blade & Cauldron which will be a source of extra content. In fact, we already have our first topic up on our discussion board, where we invite you to share the recipes your family turns to when time or money are particularly tight.
While the focus of Blade & Cauldron is on living a simpler and frugal life, it is also about reconnecting to Spirit as well. As such, I will be bringing my Pagan faith and practices into the content here as well from time to time.
But, the blog is only the beginning.
Our plan is to turn the idea of Blade and Cauldron, one birthed just over five years ago, into reality and to create a home business (planned for the beginning of 2011). In the meantime, its a place to keep our eyes ahead on the future we wish to create, to share the things we learn & discover along the way, and to hopefully help us get there.
